The "River" is the life and well being of communities stretching from Augusta in the west to Dumbleyung in the east.
As the largest river in the south west it tells an incredible geological story of time across a diverse panorama.

The biodiversity of the region is internationally recognised.
The BRF is an independent Incorporated body, registered in Western Australia. It also has Income Tax Exempt Charity (ITEC) status, is on the Register of Environmental Organisations (REO) and has Deductible Gift Recipient (DGR) status.

Sadly threats such as clearing, increasing nutrients, salinisation, degraded river vegetation, urbanisation and industrial growth have seen this once majestic river slide into decline.
